We Provide Housing & Other Services
If you do need housing, keep in mind that you won’t be the only one! Because our programs are so highly rated, we have students who come from all 50 states and many of our students are not from the local area. We work with all of our out-of-town students to come up with a housing solution that works best for them and their budget.
Living close to campus can make all of the difference to your experience as a student and is the most convenient way to travel to and from classes. We want everyone who comes to West Coast Training to have comfortable, affordable housing, which is why we have several options for students while they pursue their studies.
Our housing options include apartment living, our partnership with a local motel, and we can even refer you to several nearby RV parks. Talk to our Student Recruiters in the Admissions Department about what housing arrangement will work best for you.
Take a look to help decide which option is best for you!
Complimentary Double Occupancy Motel (No Cost To Enrolled Students)
If you’re looking for an option that is cost-effective, then why not take advantage of our partnership a with the local motel in the area. Each room includes two twin beds and one bathroom, complimentary breakfast services, and a shuttle service to the school.
The motel is within a five-minute drive to the West Coast Training school or you can take advantage of the shuttle, which is provided at a nominal cost. Shuttle service also runs to the local grocery store twice per week, so everything is within your reach. Motel living is one of our most affordable options and can not be beaten in terms of convenience and price. Note though that you will be sharing the room with another student when you choose this option.
Complimentary Apartment Living (No Cost To Enrolled Students)
Apartment living at West Coast Training can be a comfortable way to house yourself while you’re in heavy equipment operator school. Our apartments include two private bedrooms and one bathroom. Each unit also includes a shared living space and we assign no more than 2 people per apartment. If you’re looking for a more private experience, apartment living is a great choice. This option is limited to first come first served availability.
Single Motel Room (Perfect for Families or Those Who Wish to Live Alone)
If you want housing that is private or you are coming to our program with a spouse or family in tow, then a single motel room might be the best option for you. Our partnership with the nearby motel allows for private, single space rooms that also include complimentary breakfast services, close proximity to local shopping, twice weekly shuttle service to the local grocery stores, and daily shuttle to our campus. Single motel rooms come at an additional cost, but are still affordable to the student who is on a budget.
While students are welcome to bring their family to join them during the 8-week schooling, know in advanced that no pets are allowed in the motel, so please leave animals in the care of another during your stay.
RV Referral
We offer a referral service to any of the local RV parks if you are looking for other housing options. Please speak with your admissions advisor, who can further direct you to the park that best suits your needs.
Other Services
We know that housing isn’t the only factor that will determine your experience while in heavy equipment operator school. We want our students to have a healthy quality of life while they are in our educational program and feel confident about their employment prospects once they’ve graduated. Which is why we also offer other services that make school life convenient for our students.
Airport Pickup & Drop Off
In addition to the services provided above, pickup and drop off at the airport is provided for all students who are coming from out-of-state. Our campus is a short 45-minute drive north of Portland International Airport (PDX). Many of the larger airlines fly into PDX, including American Airlines, Southwest, Delta, JetBlue, and United.
We want all of our students to feel confident that they can get to our campus easily and without hassle. We also offer daily transportation to and from campus and to local services. Speak with your admissions advisor who can coordinate travel plans if you’re coming from afar.
Employment Services
At West Coast Training we understand that the education our students receive is in larger service to the job that they will pursue upon graduation. We want all of our students to have the best chance of getting employed once they’ve graduated from our program, which is why we provide employment services that include a dedicated staff member from our school who maintains relationships with heavy equipment companies throughout the country.
This staff member will work with their professional contacts to do everything she can to assist in your successful job placement upon graduation. This is a free service that we provide to give graduates a leg up on the competition. Although we cannot guarantee employment, we work diligently with our students to ensure that they have the best chance for employment once they graduate our training programs.
If you still have questions that you’d like to discuss with an admissions advisor, feel free to give us a call. Our Student Recruiters will work with you to plan your housing and answer any other questions you might have. At West Coast Training we seek to give all of our students the best possible quality of life and housing is just one service we offer.
